Atlanta Falcons Make Roster Moves, Add Two to Practice Squad

The Atlanta Falcons have made a couple of roster moves, including adding two players to their practice squad and releasing one.

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. – With the regular season now underway, the Falcons have officially set their 2025 roster. On Tuesday, the team announced they signed two players to their practice squad and made one roster move.

On Monday, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that former training camp invitee Ronnie Perkins was added to the Falcons’ practice squad. Perkins, who most recently played for the UFL’s Birmingham Stallions, saw action in five games, recording 17 tackles and 3.5 sacks. Prior to his UFL stint, Perkins struggled with injuries that hindered his career since being drafted in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

In addition to Perkins, the Falcons signed interior defensive lineman Simeon Barrow to their practice squad. Barrow, an undrafted rookie from Miami (FL), registered at least three sacks in each of his four college seasons, including 5.5 sacks in his senior year. He played in all three preseason games for the Falcons, recording two tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble.

To make room for the new signings, the Falcons released offensive tackle Brandon Parker from the practice squad. Parker had been competing for a roster spot with rookie Jack Nelson but did not make the active roster last week.

In other roster moves, the Falcons traded for Michael Jerrell from the Seattle Seahawks and also signed Ryan Hayes and Carter Warren to their practice squad after they cleared waivers on Wednesday. The team also retained German kicker Lenny Krieg through the International Player Pathway Program, opening up an additional practice squad spot.

With Perkins and Barrow now officially on the practice squad and Parker released, the Falcons have filled all 17 practice squad spots.

“You guys know how much we value our practice squad guys, given how often we flexed them last year,” Head Coach Raheem Morris said during training camp.

Both Perkins and Barrow are expected to provide important depth for the Falcons as the season progresses.
