Devin Mockobee Moves Up Purdue’s All-Time Rushing List
Purdue running back Devin Mockobee continues to ascend the program’s all-time rushing ranks, moving up two spots after a standout performance against Southern Illinois.
In Purdue’s 34-17 victory over Southern Illinois on Saturday night, Mockobee rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns, while also catching two passes for 21 yards. With this performance, he now has 2,651 career rushing yards, moving him past Markell Jones (2,594) and Montrell Lowe (2,648) into fifth place on Purdue’s all-time rushing list.
Through the first two games of the season, Mockobee has accumulated 185 rushing yards, helping the Boilermakers start the 2025 season with a 2-0 record.
Mockobee is now chasing the program’s all-time rushing record, currently held by Mike Alstott, who rushed for 3,635 yards between 1992-95.
Key Moments from Mockobee vs. Southern Illinois
Mockobee’s first touchdown came late in the second quarter with Purdue leading 17-14. With less than two minutes remaining in the half, Mockobee powered through for a score, giving the Boilermakers a cushion heading into halftime.
His second touchdown came early in the fourth quarter on a 1-yard run out of the Wildcat formation, putting Purdue up 34-14 and essentially sealing the win.
Next week, Purdue will begin Big Ten play with a matchup against USC at Ross-Ade Stadium.
