Nebraska added a special teams piece out of the portal on Saturday morning.

Nebraska football marked a significant milestone on its agenda by securing a commitment from Kevin Gallic, a long snapper from New Hampshire.

Standing at 6 feet and weighing 239 pounds, Gallic visited Nebraska this week and opted for the Huskers over offers from UMass, TCU, Akron, and others. He will have one season of eligibility left in Lincoln next year.

Originally a walk-on at New Hampshire, the New Jersey native developed into one of the most reliable long snappers in the FCS.

Gallic earned an impressive 88.9 grade from Pro Football Focus for the 2024 season and was named to Phil Steele’s mid-year FCS All-American team last fall.

The Huskers have been looking to strengthen the long snapper position after facing challenges there in 2024. They rotated between Camden Witucki and Aidan Flege during the season, with snapping issues impacting field goal attempts in several games.

Gallic isn’t the only potential addition for Nebraska’s special teams; former Washington punter Jack McCallister is also scheduled to visit this weekend, as the Huskers look to bolster their roster following Brian Buschini’s departure.
