Spurs Take a Chance on Six-Foot Guard After Injury

As training camp approaches, the San Antonio Spurs are giving Isaiah Miller another shot at an NBA contract, signing him to an Exhibit-10 deal. This move allows the Spurs to round out their training camp roster, with the potential for Miller to earn a spot on the regular roster.

An Exhibit-10 contract essentially guarantees the player the minimum NBA salary, typically for those competing for a G League spot or, as in Miller’s case, a spot on the main roster at the start of the season.

For Miller, who has bounced between teams and most recently played with the Austin Spurs, this is a critical opportunity to make his NBA comeback.

Who is Isaiah Miller?

Miller is a fast, explosive guard who excels at driving to the basket, especially in transition. He spent much of the 2024-25 season with the Austin Spurs in the G League, where he averaged 14.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.2 assists across 15 games. Unfortunately, his season was cut short when he tore his right ACL in February.

At 27 years old and standing 6 feet tall, Miller will face stiff competition to earn a spot, as he’ll be up against other guards like De’Aaron Fox and Dylan Harper.

His former coach with the Austin Spurs, Scott King, had positive things to say about Miller’s work ethic. “We had a team full of leaders,” King noted. “It makes for a really competitive practice and strong basketball.”

The Bigger Picture for the Spurs

San Antonio’s roster is shaping up to be a youthful and hungry one, eager to compete this season, with a few veterans to provide leadership. Miller, too, embodies that drive. This could be his one opportunity to prove himself and make his mark on the team.

It will be interesting to see if he can earn a spot for the opening game, but if he doesn’t make the cut, his experience and talent should allow him to stay with the Austin Spurs, where a future call-up could be on the horizon.

Regardless of the outcome, the Spurs are giving Miller a chance to prove himself, and it sounds like he’s ready to compete with everything he’s got.
