Drinkwitz Offers Injury News That Could Impact Missouri vs. Carolina
Mizzou Left Tackle Cayden Green Out for South Carolina Game
Missouri will be missing its standout left tackle for Week 4. The Tigers announced Friday night that starting left tackle Cayden Green will be unavailable for the upcoming game against South Carolina.
Green was added to the availability report Thursday with an undisclosed injury, initially listed as “probable.” Apart from Green, the only other players out for the game are those dealing with long-term injuries: quarterback Sam Horn, kicker Blake Craig, and offensive guard Logan Reichert.
With Green sidelined, Jayven Richardson is expected to step in at left tackle. Richardson, a former JUCO transfer, competed with West Virginia transfer Johnny Williams IV for the starting spot during the offseason. However, after evaluating the offensive line in fall camp, the coaching staff opted to move Green from left guard to tackle.
Richardson saw action in 69 snaps last season for Missouri after transferring from Hutchinson Community College. ESPN had ranked him as the No. 34 JUCO transfer prospect in the 2024 offseason.
