Timberwolves Finalize Training Camp Roster with Three New Signings
The Minnesota Timberwolves have added Alize Johnson, Jules Bernard, and Zyon Pullin to complete their 21-man training camp roster, which kicks off Tuesday. The team announced the signings on Sunday, though contract details were not disclosed. It’s widely expected that all three players were signed to Exhibit 10 deals—non-guaranteed contracts typically used to add depth during training camp. If they perform well, they could earn a two-way contract or be assigned to Minnesota’s G League affiliate, the Iowa Wolves.
To make room, the team waived guard CJ Fulton and forward Nate Santos. Fulton, from Ireland, had joined Minnesota for Summer League earlier this year.
Alize Johnson
A 29-year-old forward, Johnson was drafted 50th overall by the Indiana Pacers in 2018 out of Missouri State. After two seasons with Indiana, he had brief stints with the Nets, Bulls, Wizards, Pelicans, and Spurs between 2020 and 2023. His standout NBA performances came with Brooklyn in 2021, where he recorded games of 23 points and 15 rebounds, and 20 points and 21 rebounds. Across 76 NBA games, he’s averaged 2.5 points and 3.0 rebounds.
Johnson has also been a strong G League performer, averaging 18.3 points, 13.1 rebounds, and 3.9 assists across nearly 100 games. Since last playing in the NBA with the Spurs in December 2022, he’s continued his career overseas in South Korea, Puerto Rico, and Japan. He now returns in hopes of an NBA comeback.
Zyon Pullin
Pullin, 24, is a versatile 6’4″ guard who played college ball at UC Riverside and Florida. After going undrafted, he made his NBA debut with the Memphis Grizzlies in February. As a rookie in the G League, he averaged 15 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 4.4 assists across 34 games, showing promise as a shooter, scorer, and secondary playmaker.
Jules Bernard
The 25-year-old Bernard, a 6’7″ left-handed guard/wing from UCLA, went undrafted in 2022. He appeared in 19 NBA games with the Washington Wizards during the 2023–24 season. Bernard has also made a name for himself in the G League, putting up 17.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game over 114 contests.
The Timberwolves will host their annual media day on Monday, with training camp beginning Tuesday. Their first preseason game is scheduled for Saturday against the Denver Nuggets in San Diego.
