Breaking: Major News for Seton Hall Pirates and the BIG EAST

NEW YORK – The BIG EAST has announced TV network assignments and game times for the 2025-26 men’s basketball season, reinforcing its reputation as one of the most visible conferences in college sports.

The season begins the league’s new six-year media rights deal (2025-31), which includes coverage across FOX Sports (FOX, FS1), NBC Sports (NBC, Peacock), TNT Sports (TNT, truTV), and ESPN (ESPN+). In total, fans will be able to watch more than 150 regular-season games nationally, along with every conference matchup and all BIG EAST Tournament games.

  • FOX Sports will remain the league’s lead partner, airing over 60 games each year and continuing to broadcast the BIG EAST Tournament championship at Madison Square Garden through 2031.

  • NBC Sports/Peacock will carry more than 40 regular-season games, plus five early-round and quarterfinal BIG EAST Tournament contests, marking Peacock’s second year of coverage.

  • TNT Sports joins the lineup in 2025-26, televising 40 games (30 in conference play) on TNT and truTV under a new broadcast partnership.

  • ESPN+ begins streaming 40 non-conference games per season under a six-year digital rights agreement.

FOX Sports

  • The BIG EAST Tournament will stay at Madison Square Garden for the 44th straight year in 2026.

  • UConn highlights include BYU (Nov. 15 in Boston) and Illinois (Nov. 28 at MSG) on FOX.

  • December showcases UConn vs. Texas (Dec. 12) and Creighton vs. Kansas State (Dec. 13).

  • FOX will air up to 10 conference games, including St. John’s–UConn (Feb. 6), Villanova–Creighton (Feb. 14), and a Creighton–St. John’s rematch of the 2025 title game (Feb. 21).

FS1

  • Season tips off Nov. 3 with St. John’s vs. Quinnipiac, followed by St. John’s vs. Alabama (Nov. 8).

  • Doubleheaders include UConn vs. Columbia/Xavier vs. Santa Clara (Nov. 10).

  • UConn hosts Arizona (Nov. 19); Providence plays Wisconsin at the Rady Children’s Invitational (Nov. 27).

  • Rivalries: Villanova–Temple (Dec. 1), Seton Hall–Rutgers (Dec. 13).

  • FS1 will air 38 conference games, including seven doubleheaders and key matchups like Creighton at Xavier (Dec. 17) and Providence at Marquette (Jan. 19).

NBC Sports / Peacock

  • NBC will air two games: Oklahoma–Marquette (Nov. 28) and Marquette–UConn (Jan. 4).

  • Peacock features Creighton–South Dakota (Nov. 5), Providence–Virginia Tech (Nov. 8), and marquee non-conference doubleheaders (Nov. 15).

  • Notable games: Ole Miss–St. John’s (Dec. 6), Marquette–Purdue (Dec. 13), Northwestern–Butler (Dec. 20).

  • BIG EAST play on Peacock begins Dec. 16 (DePaul–St. John’s, Butler–UConn).

  • Kevin Willard returns to Seton Hall when Villanova visits Dec. 23.

  • Peacock will carry multiple multi-game nights, including a Feb. 25 doubleheader (St. John’s–UConn, DePaul–Creighton).

TNT Sports (TNT, truTV)

  • Villanova debuts under Kevin Willard vs. BYU (Nov. 3, Las Vegas).

  • Highlights include Villanova–Pitt (Dec. 13), Creighton/St. John’s in The Players Era Festival (Nov. 24–26), and the Crosstown Shootout (Cincinnati–Xavier, Dec. 5).

  • truTV games: Northwestern–DePaul (Nov. 14) and Butler–Boise State (Dec. 6).

  • TNT doubleheader Feb. 18: Creighton–UConn, St. John’s–Marquette.

  • In total, 20 BIG EAST conference games (with six Saturday doubleheaders) will air on TNT/truTV.

ESPN+

  • Beginning in 2025-26, ESPN+ will stream 40 non-conference men’s games per season.

  • Opening night (Nov. 3) will feature seven games.

  • Ten BIG EAST programs will appear at least once on ESPN+ in November/December.

  • The deal also covers 75 women’s basketball and 200 Olympic sports events annually, plus at least 25 non-conference men’s games each season.

  • Nov. 5–7: Creighton, Butler, Seton Hall, UConn all in action (Peacock/ESPN+). Georgetown plays Maryland (TBD).

  • Sat, Nov. 8: St. John’s vs Alabama (FS1), Providence vs Virginia Tech (Peacock).

  • Nov. 24–25: Creighton (vs Baylor, Iowa St.), St. John’s (vs Iowa St., Baylor), Seton Hall (vs NC State).
