The Pitt Panthers will be represented by the head coach and two returning players at ACC media day.
PITTSBURGH — Pitt men’s basketball will be represented at the 2025 ACC Tipoff by head coach Jeff Capel along with returning players Cameron Corhen and Brandin Cummings, the program announced.
Corhen, one of six returnees from last season, started all 32 games in 2024–25, averaging 11 points, 5.2 rebounds, and nearly one assist per game while shooting an efficient 63.5% from the field. He joined Pitt last year after beginning his college career with two seasons at Florida State.
Cummings, meanwhile, is coming off a solid freshman campaign where he averaged 6.3 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game. He was effective across the board, shooting 43% overall, 37.7% from three, and 82.1% at the foul line.
Corhen and Cummings are among six returning lettermen from last season, joined by Papa Amadou Kante, Amdy Ndiaye, Benjamin Mayhew, and Jajuan Nelson.
The Panthers added nine newcomers over the offseason. Barry Dunnings Jr. transferred from South Alabama, while Nojus Indrusaitis and Dishon Jackson arrived from Iowa State, and Damarco Minor came from Oregon State.
Jackson, considered Pitt’s top transfer pickup, is on his fourth college team after previous stints at Washington State, Charlotte, and Iowa State. Last season with the Cyclones, he started 33 of 35 games, averaging 8.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks.
Pitt also signed five true freshmen: Roman Siulepa, Omari Witherspoon, Henry Lau, Macari Moore, and Kieran Mullen. Witherspoon highlights the class as a four-star prospect, ranked among the top 200 nationally and top 40 at small forward. Moore also enters as a four-star, ranked in the top 250 overall and among the top 15 combo guards in the country.
This year’s ACC media days, featuring both men’s and women’s basketball programs, will be held Oct. 6–8 in Charlotte, N.C. The men’s ACC Tipoff is scheduled for Oct. 7, with live coverage airing on ACC Network from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
