Mega hit: Ohio State football hosts an offensive line transfer from the Big Ten

Ohio State football recently hosted former Minnesota offensive lineman Phillip Daniels for a visit, according to a source familiar with the situation. Daniels, an offensive tackle from Cincinnati, was a three-star recruit in the 2023 recruiting class, as ranked by 247Sports Composite.

During his two seasons at Minnesota, Daniels saw limited playing time in his first year before becoming a regular starter in the 2023 season. He started four games and accumulated 300 offensive snaps, primarily playing at right tackle. He did, however, log eight snaps at left tackle, as noted by Pro Football Focus.

Throughout the season, Daniels allowed one sack and eight pressures. Despite showing potential and gaining valuable experience, Daniels entered the transfer portal on Monday, seeking a new opportunity for the remainder of his college career. His visit to Ohio State comes as the Buckeyes look to bolster their offensive line depth heading into the future.
