North Dakota Lands 3-Star CB Christian Davis After Flip From Northern Illinois
Three-star cornerback Christian Davis announced on Sunday that he is committing to North Dakota, flipping from Northern Illinois, where he had been pledged since August 12. The move marks a significant recruiting victory for the Fighting Hawks over a Group of Five opponent.
“After a lot of thought, prayer, and discussions with my family, I’ve decided to change my commitment and continue my journey at the University of North Dakota! Go Fighting Hawks!” Davis shared on social media.
The 6-foot-1, 183-pound defensive back is a Hollywood, Florida native. He transferred to Chaminade-Madonna High School during the summer but ultimately landed at Monarch High School for the season.
According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Davis is rated the No. 196 cornerback and the No. 238 overall prospect in Florida. He also received notable offers from Air Force, Western Kentucky, Liberty, and FIU.
In an interview with Rivals reporter Marcus Benjamin, Davis highlighted his strong connection with defensive backs coach Travis Stepps as a major reason for his decision to consider North Dakota.
Davis emerged during his sophomore year with 38 tackles, 30 pass breakups, and an interception. He built on that momentum as a junior, recording 34 tackles, 10 pass breakups, and a fumble recovery.
He now becomes the highest-rated commit in North Dakota program history, surpassing former three-star linebacker Malachi McNeal, the team’s current leading tackler.
Davis joins linebacker Blake Buhr and quarterback Brooks Hendrickson as three-star additions to the Hawks’ 2026 recruiting class. According to 247Sports, he is the program’s 17th commitment for the cycle.
