NC State Lands Commitment From Three-Star WR After Flipping Him From Liberty
NC State’s victory over Florida State helped sway three-star wide receiver Amiri Acker, who officially flipped his commitment to the Wolfpack. Acker had been pledged to Liberty since June 15 but reopened his recruitment on October 25, announcing he would no longer be joining the Flames. He later took an unofficial visit to Virginia Tech, but his trip to NC State on November 21 ultimately sealed the deal.
Acker announced on social media that he was committing to head coach Dave Doeren and the Wolfpack program.
Amiri Acker Commits to NC State
With a strong group of recruits in attendance for NC State’s upset win over Florida State, the timing couldn’t have been better for Doeren and his staff to make an impression. The visit resonated with Acker, who posted:
“Blessed to be a part of NC State. Thank you to all the other coaches for the relationships we’ve built. I’ve found my home and can’t wait to go do great things.”
Acker had also been on hand for NC State’s upset victory over Georgia Tech earlier in the season, giving the Wolfpack additional momentum in flipping him. His commitment adds an important wide receiver to NC State’s 2026 class. According to 247Sports, Acker ranks as the No. 11 player in South Carolina and the No. 84 receiver nationally in his class.
NC State’s 2026 Recruiting Class Continues to Grow
Acker’s pledge is significant for multiple reasons. He now joins fellow wideout Tyreek Copper and linebacker Zykir Moore as the three 89-rated recruits in NC State’s 2026 class. The Wolfpack currently sit at No. 52 nationally for the cycle, per 247Sports.
While Copper was already committed, securing another talented receiver was a priority. Quarterbacks can’t succeed without reliable targets, and Wolfpack fans now have both Acker and Copper to look forward to.
Acker marks NC State’s 20th commitment in the 2026 class, and Doeren isn’t finished recruiting yet. With North Carolina coming to Raleigh on November 29 for the final home game, the Wolfpack will have another opportunity to make an impression and potentially add more pieces to their class.
