Ravens Share Worrisome Update on Key Offensive Injury

The Baltimore Ravens may be forced to play without one of their offensive starters as they prepare for a crucial Week 15 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. The team wrapped up its final practice ahead of the game, but the outlook is not promising for one key contributor.

Wide receiver Rashod Bateman, who was not listed on the injury report earlier in the week, was later added due to an ankle issue. He did not participate in the final practice, raising concerns about his availability. Head coach John Harbaugh addressed Bateman’s status following practice.

“Rashod wasn’t able to go today because of the ankle. We’ll evaluate it tomorrow and see where things stand on Sunday,” Harbaugh said.

Bateman’s potential absence would be a notable blow to Baltimore’s passing attack, even in what has been a relatively quiet season for him. He has already missed two games because of injuries and recently returned to action, appearing in the last two contests.

Through 11 games, Bateman has totaled 18 receptions for 217 yards and two touchdowns. He recorded just two catches across his last two games against the Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers.

If Bateman is sidelined, increased responsibility will fall on Zay Flowers and DeAndre Hopkins in the receiving game. While Hopkins has also struggled to find consistency this season, Flowers has performed well despite some inefficiency as the team’s top wideout.

Lamar Jackson may also rely more heavily on tight ends Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely. Andrews recently signed a contract extension, while Likely has endured a difficult stretch, including two touchdowns overturned by penalties and a costly fumble. This matchup could present an opportunity for both tight ends to make a major impact.

Baltimore is expected to maintain its balanced offensive approach, mixing the run and pass. Derrick Henry should continue to receive his usual workload, with less emphasis on Jackson extending plays with his legs.

The Ravens face mounting pressure as they must win their remaining games to stay in playoff contention and keep hopes of an AFC North title alive. Their recent loss to Cincinnati placed them in this must-win situation, and they may now have to respond without Bateman, depending on how his ankle progresses in the coming days.
