Browns Receive Positive Update on Quinshon Judkins After Serious Injury
Quinshon Judkins’ season has come to an unfortunate end following a disturbing injury in the game against the Buffalo Bills. However, there’s some good news: the Cleveland Browns’ running back should be fully recovered and ready for next season’s preparations.
The injury occurred just before halftime, and the CBS broadcast chose not to show the replay due to its graphic nature. Judkins was quickly carted off the field.
After the game, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski shared that Judkins had suffered a dislocated ankle and a fractured fibula. Thankfully, there was no ligament damage, and he is expected to return to the field for spring practice, according to Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com.
“Judkins’ injury (dislocated ankle, fractured fibula) is expected to sideline him for 4-5 months, but he should be back practicing by spring,” Cabot reported after the game.
Browns Teammates React to Judkins’ Injury
Judkins’ injury left his teammates heartbroken, including quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who was visibly upset after delivering the pass that led to the injury.
“It really hurt to see Quinshon go down,” Sanders said. “That was the only option I had, and I feel bad because I threw it. But yeah, it hurts. It really does.”
Veteran offensive lineman Joel Bitonio shared similar feelings.
“He’s my guy, man. He’s the guy I work with in the locker room in Berea. He puts in the effort and loves the game. Seeing him go down like that is just really unfortunate. I hope he recovers fast. He’s young, and we’re all hoping everything heals quickly. Injuries like this are the worst part of football.”
Browns Without Their Top Running Backs Going Forward
With Judkins out for the rest of the year, the Browns find themselves shorthanded at running back. Jerome Ford, the team’s veteran back, is also out for the season, and rookie Dylan Sampson has missed the last two games due to injury. Now, Trayveon Williams and Raheim “Rocket” Sanders will be shouldering the workload.
Sanders rushed 11 times for 42 yards in the loss, while Williams had 3 carries for 17 yards and contributed 4 catches for 38 yards.
“Whoever is in there, we trust them,” Stefanski said. “They’re with us in every meeting and practice. Sometimes you don’t get the chances to play, but you’re on this team because we believe in you. It wasn’t a surprise to see them make some big plays. Trayveon had some crucial moments, and Rocket ran hard.”
The Browns will face the Pittsburgh Steelers next week in their final home game of the season, followed by a road game against the Cincinnati Bengals to wrap up the year.
