“Massive Boost” Michigan State football Hit With Major Good News After Severe Injury Concerns

EUGENE, Ore. − Nick Marsh is returning, and there’s even more positive news for the Spartans.

Left tackle Stanton Ramil has also been cleared from the injury report, bringing Michigan State football close to full strength ahead of Friday night’s matchup against No. 6 Oregon.

Marsh, who was named the Big Ten and national freshman of the week following the Spartans’ victory over Maryland on September 7, missed the defeat against Boston College and played only one drive in Saturday’s 38-7 loss to Ohio State, where he recorded two catches for 20 yards before sitting out the rest of the game.

Ramil, a redshirt freshman who made his first college start at left tackle during the 23-19 defeat to the Eagles on September 21, participated in warmups before the game against the Buckeyes but did not play. Michigan State started Rakeem Johnson at left tackle and rotated him with fellow true freshman Rustin Young at that position.

The only player listed as questionable for the Spartans is starting linebacker Jordan Hall. Others who remain sidelined include tight end Michael Masunas, wide receivers Antonio Gates Jr. and Alante Brown, cornerbacks Ade Willie and Chance Rucker, and defensive back Dillon Tatum.

Three additional players who were injured in the game against the Buckeyes—defensive tackle Maverick Hansen, safety Malik Spencer, and nickel back Angelo Grose—are not on either injured list for the 9 p.m. kickoff between MSU (3-2, 1-1 Big Ten) and the Ducks (4-0, 1-0), who are hosting their first conference game since joining the league.
