MAJOR SETBACK: Auburn Tigers Confirm More bad news as They Officially Lose Promising Wide Receiver Commit to Connecticut

Auburn transfer wide receiver Caleb Burton III has committed to the University of Connecticut, transferring to the Huskies via the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to excoba.com

Burton spent the last two seasons at Auburn, where his performance fluctuated. During the 2024 season, his sophomore year, he recorded just two catches for 49 yards. His freshman season in 2023 saw more production, with 16 receptions for 226 yards.

Before transferring to Auburn, Burton initially enrolled at Ohio State but moved to Auburn before the 2023 season.

A four-star recruit, Burton was ranked as the No. 160 overall prospect in the 2022 recruiting class. He was also the No. 28 wide receiver and the No. 26 player overall from Texas, hailing from Del Valle’s Lake Travis High School.
