A talented 6-6 wing player from Houston shows promise: What’s the latest on the highly-rated prospect from Houston?

Duke Recruiting: Shelton Henderson Intel

Shelton Henderson, a talented 6-6 wing from Houston, has the luxury of choosing from numerous top schools.

Henderson, a 5-star recruit from Bellaire High, has garnered significant interest from Louisville, Kansas, LSU, Texas, Houston, and Duke, with the latter three being the most prominent contenders.

Houston, his hometown school, has seen a resurgence under Kelvin Sampson, reminiscent of the success Guy Lewis brought to the program between 1956 and 1986, particularly during the late 1960s and early 1980s.

Rodney Terry from Texas has been actively recruiting Henderson, who feels he has a strong connection with the coach.

At Duke, Henderson has a close relationship with Jai Lucas, whose father, John Lucas, is a Durham native and former Houston resident known for his impactful contributions to the community.

Henderson aims to make his decision by the early signing period. While the Crystal Ball predicts Duke, and On3.com also leans towards Duke, the final decision rests with Henderson.
