Von Miller, who spent the first 10 years of his career with the Denver Broncos, has an emotional connection to his former team ahead of the Buffalo Bills’ wild-card playoff game against the Broncos on Sunday. Despite now playing for Buffalo, Miller holds no ill will toward Denver. When asked about his feelings leading up to the game, he made it clear that he still has a deep affection for the Broncos.
“It’s all love,” Miller stated. “I can’t pretend there’s any hatred. That would be far from the truth and not beneficial for how I want to play. I love those guys and everything about the Denver Broncos.”
Drafted by the Broncos as the second overall pick in 2011, Miller quickly made a name for himself, winning Defensive Rookie of the Year and earning Pro Bowl honors in his first season. He had a breakout year in his second season, recording 18.5 sacks, and played a key role in the Broncos’ Super Bowl 50 victory, earning Super Bowl MVP after recording five sacks in the postseason.
In November 2021, Miller was traded to the Los Angeles Rams, where he helped secure a championship, but despite the change, he continues to follow the Broncos’ progress and stays in touch with former teammates like offensive lineman Garrett Bolles. While Miller doesn’t seek revenge, he is focused on helping the Bills win, acknowledging that the game will be a meaningful and emotional one for him.
“It’s a full circle moment,” Miller said. “Nothing but love for the Broncos and Broncos Country.”
