The Houston Rockets have a key need to address before the NBA trade deadline. With less than a month to go, there’s growing speculation that they may make one or more moves to strengthen their roster.

If the Rockets decide to make a move, adding a shooter should be a priority, according to Bleacher Report’s Grant Hughes.

Although Houston ranks in the top 10 for offensive rating, they are 24th in half-court scoring efficiency, which could pose a problem in the postseason, Hughes notes.

The team excels in transition and leads the league in offensive rebound rate, which helps boost their scoring and compensate for their struggles in slower, more methodical offensive sets. However, during the playoffs, when opposing teams are better at setting up defenses and forcing tough shots, the Rockets may face significant challenges.

While the team may choose to stay the course, especially since their current approach has them in second place in the Western Conference, it’s clear that making improvements could solidify their position as a legitimate contender for the remainder of the season.

The Rockets will be back in action on Monday, facing the Memphis Grizzlies at home, with tipoff set for 7 p.m. CT.
