Cincinnati Bengals Closing in on Al Golden for Defensive Coordinator Job-Reports

Cincinnati Bengals Nearing Deal with Al Golden for Defensive Coordinator Role

The Bengals are looking to strengthen their defense this offseason.

CINCINNATI — According to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, the Bengals are set to interview Notre Dame defensive coordinator Al Golden within the next 48 hours.

“If all goes as planned, [they’ll] hire him as their next defensive coordinator,” Breer tweeted. “He’s their top choice.”

Last week, it was reported that the Bengals were deciding between two candidates: Golden and Patrick Graham. Golden is now considered the frontrunner and is expected to be named the team’s new defensive coordinator in the near future.

“All signs point to (Al) Golden,” league sources told BengalsTalk.com.

The Bengals are expected to finalize the hiring of the 55-year-old soon.
