The college football season has wrapped up, and the transfer portal activity is beginning to wind down just days after the championship game. This shift allows attention to focus on National Signing Day in February, as high school prospects make their college choices. The Auburn football program is hustling on both fronts, especially as Hugh Freeze’s position becomes increasingly challenging.
So far, Auburn has made significant moves in the transfer portal, bringing in players like QB Jackson Arnold from Oklahoma and WR Eric Singleton Jr. from Georgia Tech, among others.
Currently, the Auburn football program is hosting two four-star recruits for the Class of 2026, according to Tom Loy of 247Sports. The recruits are safety Bralan Womack and cornerback Nassir McCoy, both of whom have received offers from Auburn.
McCoy hails from Buford High School in Georgia and has recently attracted interest from Alabama, intensifying the competition. Womack, on the other hand, plays at Hartfield Academy in Mississippi and is drawing attention from powerhouse programs like Alabama and Ohio State, among others.
The Auburn football program is in urgent need of talent moving forward. In 2024, the Tigers finished with a 5-7 record overall and a 2-6 mark in the SEC, raising concerns about Hugh Freeze’s future with the team.
The SEC has only become more competitive with the addition of Oklahoma and Texas, and the conference is rich in talented players. Womack and McCoy are two promising recruits to keep an eye on, and Auburn’s decision to host both for visits indicates a strong interest in bringing them into the program.
Securing one or both of these players would be significant for the Class of 2026, as the Tigers look to turn their fortunes around after a series of disappointing seasons.
