Kelsey Mitchell Explains Her Decision to Re-Sign with the Fever, Acknowledges Caitlin Clark
The dynamic backcourt duo of Kelsey Mitchell and Caitlin Clark will continue. Mitchell, a WNBA All-Star, re-signed with the Indiana Fever on Wednesday, extending her partnership with Rookie of the Year, Caitlin Clark. Clark was thrilled with the news, greeting Mitchell warmly as she arrived at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Fever president Kelly Krauskopf spoke to the crowd during the welcoming event, emphasizing Mitchell’s significance to the team.
“There was no chance she was going anywhere else but the Indiana Fever,” Krauskopf remarked.
She then handed the floor over to Mitchell, who had just signed a one-year supermax deal, for her thoughts after committing to the team that she’s spent her entire seven-year WNBA career with. Mitchell took a moment to show appreciation for her backcourt partner during her speech.
“Indiana has felt like home since I went pro, it’s the only place I know,” Mitchell shared. “The way everyone here has embraced me, from the staff to the employees, it’s something I’ll always remember. That made coming back so special because I’ve met so many incredible people.”
She continued, “And then I met Caitlin Clark, one of the best people in the world, who’s been dominating basketball. Together, we hope to make you all proud. I’m excited to be here—let’s do this.”

Mitchell, who averaged 19.2 points per game and shot 40.2% from three-point range last season, has been selected as an All-Star for the past two seasons. She’s been a constant presence with the Fever and is eager to continue her journey with the team.
