Cincinnati’s positive vibes have evaporated over the past month.
CINCINNATI — The early momentum from UC football’s 5-2 start has been lost amid a four-game losing streak as the team heads into its final game of the season. According to The Athletic’s latest FB rankings, Cincinnati has dropped to No. 62 nationally, down from No. 59 last week.
This season, Cincinnati has performed as an average team, lingering near the bottom of the Power Conference standings. While this marks an improvement from last season, it doesn’t seem like the team has progressed at all since October began.
It’s worth noting that UC had a projected season win total of 5.5, and they could surpass that mark and secure bowl eligibility with an upset victory at home on Saturday. A win is crucial for building momentum in this era of the program. Failing to win a fifth consecutive game and missing out on a bowl would be a significant setback.
