On the 32 Thoughts podcast, Friedman mentioned, “I don’t think the Stars are done reshaping their defense. They could make further adjustments.” He also suggested that there’s a possibility of one player leaving and another arriving.
He stated that the team expects to learn about Miro Heiskanen’s status on Monday—whether he’ll return before the playoffs. “It’s not out of the question that they could revamp their blue line one more time.”
Over the weekend, the Stars traded for Cody Ceci and Mikael Granlund from the San Jose Sharks. This move is likely to inspire other NHL teams seeking improvements on offense and defense. It appears that the Stars plan to keep adjusting their roster leading up to the deadline, which aligns with their typical approach.

Friedman indicated that the Stars are likely to focus on defensemen in the trade market, as there are several players available who could integrate well into their system. Some potential acquisitions include:
