Giannis Antetokounmpo Shares Short Response to Khris Middleton’s Trade

Giannis Antetokounmpo posted a brief message on X after Khris Middleton was traded. Middleton, who had been with the Milwaukee Bucks for 12 seasons, was traded to the Washington Wizards on Wednesday. He had spent that entire time playing alongside two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reported: “Breaking: The Milwaukee Bucks are trading Khris Middleton, AJ Johnson, and a pick swap to the Washington Wizards for Kyle Kuzma, Patrick Baldwin Jr., and second-round draft compensation, sources tell ESPN.”

In response to the trade, Antetokounmpo shared a post that quickly garnered over 40,000 likes in two hours, writing: “My GOAT 🐐💯”

Middleton leaves the Bucks with one championship and three All-Star selections. Over his career with the team, he averaged 17.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.1 steals per game, shooting 46.1% from the field and 38.9% from three in 735 games.

ClutchPoints highlighted Middleton’s notable achievements during his 12 years with the Bucks: 1 NBA title, 3 All-Star appearances, 735 games (2nd), 23,039 minutes (2nd), 12,586 points (3rd), 2,990 assists (3rd), and 1,382 three-pointers made (1st).

Before joining the Bucks, Middleton played one season with the Detroit Pistons during his rookie year.

According to Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated, the Wizards plan to keep Middleton for now. The move provides them with financial flexibility, while also opening up more playing time for their younger players.
