Recently, Johnson seems to have been involved in a key personnel decision related to the team’s latest game. In Week 11, starting safety Tony Adams did not play against the Indianapolis Colts, even though he had no reported injuries. When interim coach Jeff Ulbrich was asked about this decision afterward, he provided a vague response, saying, “I’d rather not expand on that.
A lot of different things went into the decision.” According to a new article from The Athletic by insiders Zack Rosenblatt and Dianna Russini, Johnson influenced Ulbrich’s choice to bench Adams for reasons that remain unclear. Following this report, Ulbrich reiterated his non-specific stance, stating, “Mr. Johnson and I have great dialogue. We talk consistently and have honest conversations, and I’d like to keep those conversations between the two of us.” Before being sidelined, Adams had accumulated 58 combined tackles, a sack, two tackles for loss, and five pass breakups over eight games.
