Reports: Bison Brothers For Life Embarking On One More Season Together, Bonds At NDSU

Miller: “Those will be my receivers for life… those guys have been with me through thick and thin.”

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – The Bison brothers are ready for one last season together. Cam Miller, RaJa Nelson, and Braylon Henderson have developed a deep friendship at NDSU, both on and off the field.

“Those guys are some of my closest friends,” Henderson said. “Being with them is always fun.”

“Raj is probably the funniest guy around and the life of the party. Cam has a unique personality; he’s a bit reserved because he’s a quarterback, but he’s got a great vibe.”

“I’ve always been close with Cam and Braylon,” Nelson remarked. “Cam is in my class, and that hasn’t changed. He’s my quarterback—my only quarterback—so we know how good he wants us to be, and we’re determined to meet that expectation.”

“There were countless moments last year where we capitalized on third downs because of the trust I have in them,” Miller said. “Like the 3rd and 22 against Southern Illinois when Braylon caught a 50-yard pass in the middle of the field. That’s all about trust we’ve built over time.”

Their trust has only grown this offseason, as they’ve traveled to the East Coast together to train for the last two summers.

This year in New York, they worked with Miller’s trainer and players from the New York Jets, Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers, and Houston Texans.

“We get to learn from them and work on our routes,” Nelson explained. “We’re focused on the timing of specific throws, so it’s been a great experience.”

“When we have the opportunity to work, we take it seriously,” he added.

“Since those trips, our relationship has strengthened a lot. We don’t just talk about football; we can chat about anything,” Miller said.

All three are leaders on the Bison team, and their close bond, especially between Braylon and RaJa, has helped them build that leadership.

“We’ve grown up together and faced challenges together,” Henderson noted. “There’s no one on this team I relate to more than him. I really lean on him.”

“Bray is like my brother,” Nelson said. “We see each other every day, share the same position, and we push each other to improve.”

That drive for improvement extends to the rest of the team, especially among the receivers.

“I believe we have an explosive group,” Nelson said. “If they can make plays in practice, they’ll make them in games.”

The trio, along with the entire North Dakota State team, aims to make big plays in their highly anticipated season opener on August 29 at Colorado.
