The LSU Tigers are focusing their attention on the 2026 recruiting class, actively pursuing multiple committed quarterbacks for the upcoming cycle.
After the 2025 recruiting period ended without securing a quarterback following the Bryce Underwood situation, LSU, under Brian Kelly, has shifted its focus to adding a quarterback in 2026.
The recruiting landscape has heated up recently, with several top quarterbacks already committed to other schools. However, LSU remains undeterred and continues to target these players.
Here are the quarterbacks LSU is pursuing:
1. Jonas Williams – Committed to Oregon Ducks
Jonas Williams, a four-star quarterback from Frankfort, Illinois, committed to Oregon in August 2024. He is the top-rated prospect in Illinois and the 7th-ranked quarterback nationally. During his junior season, he threw for 2,926 yards, 42 touchdowns, and only 6 interceptions, with an impressive 67.8% completion rate.
Despite his commitment to Oregon, LSU remains in contact, with offensive coordinator Joe Sloan continuing to engage with Williams. LSU’s strong program and offensive system have caught Williams’ attention. He has mentioned a possible visit to LSU and is keeping his options open. LSU is firmly in the mix despite Williams’ pledge to Oregon.
2. Jake Fette – Committed to Arizona State Sun Devils
Jake Fette, a quarterback from El Paso, Texas, committed to Arizona State in September but has since attracted interest from multiple SEC programs, including LSU. Fette impressed during his sophomore and junior seasons, throwing for over 4,900 yards and 59 touchdowns, while also showcasing his mobility with more than 900 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns.
Despite being committed to Arizona State, Fette is being courted by top programs like LSU, who have extended an offer. His strong performances have made him a sought-after quarterback in the 2026 class.
3. Dia Bell – Committed to Texas Longhorns
Dia Bell, a five-star quarterback from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is committed to Texas but remains one of the most highly sought-after recruits in the country. LSU’s offensive coordinator, Joe Sloan, is continuing to recruit Bell, despite his commitment to the Longhorns. Bell, the son of former NBA star Raja Bell, has been a standout on the field, throwing for nearly 2,000 yards and 20 touchdowns as a sophomore.
LSU, along with other schools like Georgia, is keeping the lines of communication open with Bell as they continue to pursue him, hoping to flip his commitment.
While these quarterbacks are currently committed elsewhere, LSU is actively staying in contact with them, keeping hope alive for potential flips as the 2026 recruiting cycle unfolds.
