In his updated 2025 NFL Mock Draft 2.0, Daniel Jeremiah revises his prediction for the Chicago Bears’ first-round pick, opting for a different offensive line prospect than in his initial draft. Known for his expert insight, Jeremiah’s mock drafts offer valuable clues about team strategies as the 2025 NFL Draft draws closer.
In his first mock draft, Jeremiah surprised Bears fans by selecting Alabama guard Tyler Booker with the 10th pick. While Booker is a talented player, guards rarely go in the top 10, and his skillset didn’t seem to justify such a high selection. Jeremiah argued that the Bears need to prioritize improving the line protecting Caleb Williams and noted that Banks, a versatile prospect who can play both tackle and guard, would be a safer and more impactful choice.
Banks’ versatility stands out as he could play left tackle or left guard, providing the Bears with a high-floor option for their struggling offensive line. Even if he doesn’t work out as a tackle, Banks would still be a valuable guard for Williams and offensive coordinator Ben Johnson. Meanwhile, Booker is now expected to be selected at No. 13 by the Miami Dolphins, and Jeremiah still ranks him as a top-15 pick, signaling confidence in Booker’s value.
Another potential pick for the Bears, Missouri’s Armand Membou, is projected to go No. 14 to the Indianapolis Colts.
Jeremiah’s mock draft also highlights the growing importance of offensive linemen, with the Bears set to kick off a run of first-round linemen at pick No. 10, following only Will Campbell (No. 4 to the New England Patriots). The ideal range for offensive linemen in this draft appears to be between picks 10 and 15.
Additionally, Jeremiah predicts a surge in running back selections, with three running backs—Ashton Jeanty, Omarion Hampton, and TreVeyon Henderson—projected to go in the first round. If this occurs, the Bears may miss out on a top-tier running back to complement D’Andre Swift, potentially prompting them to target the position with one of their two second-round picks if they still wish to address it in the 2025 draft.
