Updated NC State Football Roster Includes Some New-Look Digits

Eight returning NC State football talents have officially changed their jersey numbers for the 2025 campaign

As NC State football prepares for its first spring practice, marking just over six months until Dave Doeren’s 13th season in Raleigh, the program unveiled the official 2025 Wolfpack spring roster on Tuesday morning.

In addition to getting acquainted with numerous new jersey numbers from newcomers via recruiting and the transfer portal, Wolfpack fans will need to familiarize themselves with the updated numbers of eight returning players:

• No. 2 – Redshirt freshman safety Ronnie Royal III (previously No. 25)
• No. 3 – Redshirt sophomore running back Hollywood Smothers (previously No. 20)
• No. 7 – Redshirt sophomore linebacker Kamal Bonner (previously No. 34)
• No. 8 – Redshirt junior nickelback Isaiah Crowell (previously No. 30)
• No. 8 – Sophomore wide receiver Keenan Jackson (previously No. 82)
• No. 9 – Sophomore wide receiver Terrell Anderson (previously No. 80)
• No. 12 – Redshirt freshman linebacker Elijah Groves (previously No. 31)
• No. 15 – Redshirt freshman cornerback Jivan Baly (previously No. 20)

The 2025 NC State football season will begin with a home game on Thursday night, August 28. The opponent will be East Carolina, the in-state rival that contributed to the Wolfpack’s disappointing 2024 record of 6-7 (3-5 ACC) by defeating them 26-21 in the Go Bowling Military Bowl in Annapolis, Md., on December 28.
