The Los Angeles Rams are having a notable offseason. Under head coach Sean McVay, the team has enjoyed success, and now the NFLPA’s latest grade reveals how ownership is viewed by the players. The Rams’ offseason has been eventful, with veteran wide receiver Cooper Kupp being placed on the trade block and possibly not returning next season. On Wednesday, the NFLPA released its annual report card, which reflects players’ assessments of their team’s ownership. The Rams’ ownership earned a C grade, a surprising result given the team’s recent successes. With the Rams’ strong performance in recent seasons, many expected a higher grade for ownership.

One critique of the Rams’ ownership is their tendency not to offer veteran players second contracts or play them regularly.

“The goal of our union is to improve the working conditions for players, which includes their daily experience at team facilities, away from the cameras,” said the NFLPA.

The report gathered feedback from 1,695 players across the league, sharing insights to help inform career decisions and elevate standards.

NFLPA executive director Lloyd Howell emphasized that ownership doesn’t need to invest only in new facilities but should also be responsive to players’ needs. “We see owners being more responsive now,” he said.

JC Tretter, the NFLPA’s chief strategy officer, noted that the league’s standards and expectations are rising faster than ever before.

It will be interesting to see if this grade affects the Rams’ ability to sign free agents. While it likely won’t have a major impact, some key players might consider the ownership’s track record when deciding whether to join the team.
