Red Sox Star Alex Bregman Shares Candid Thoughts on Roman Anthony
The Boston Red Sox find themselves in an excellent position right now, not just with a strong roster at the major league level, but also with some of the most promising prospects in baseball. What makes the situation even more exciting for Boston is that their top three prospects all have a chance to make it to the big leagues in 2025.
It’s an exciting time for Red Sox fans. Recently, the team signed former Houston Astros All-Star Alex Bregman, and he’s had the opportunity to evaluate the team’s top prospects, including Roman Anthony, Marcelo Mayer, and Kristian Campbell.
Bregman shared his thoughts on all three players, and his praise for Anthony should definitely excite Red Sox fans, as reported by MLB.com’s Ian Browne.
“He’s definitely mature beyond his years, has a really good approach at the plate,” Bregman said. “He can obviously hit the ball really hard, but also has a great eye and takes his walks. I think he’s going to be an elite hitter in the game.”
Anthony has a real shot at making the Red Sox’s Opening Day roster. While it may not be highly likely, his strong performance in Spring Training has been impressive.
Whether he debuts on Opening Day or later in 2025, Anthony is clearly on track to make an impact. The buzz surrounding this Red Sox team is stronger than in recent years, and Bregman and Anthony are key reasons for that.
