Colts to Sign Quarterback Daniel Jones on One-Year Deal, Leaving Vikings
Daniel Jones, the former Giants quarterback, is heading to the AFC after signing a one-year contract with the Indianapolis Colts, according to an NFL Network report by Ian Rapoport on Tuesday. Jones, 27, concluded the 2024 season with the Minnesota Vikings but only saw action with the New York Giants during the regular season.
Over six seasons with the Giants, Jones threw for 70 touchdowns and 47 interceptions. His standout performance came in 2022, when he led New York to a 9-7-1 record and an unexpected playoff win over the Vikings. That success earned him a four-year, $160 million extension with the Giants, a deal that has since been criticized.
In 2024, Jones threw eight touchdowns and seven interceptions in 10 games, while also recording his lowest rushing yards per game in five years.
Meanwhile, the Colts are looking to bounce back from an 8–9 season, during which their quarterback situation was highly unsettled.
