2025 NFL Draft: Ashton Jeanty to the Chicago Bears Buzz is Gaining Momentum
It’s not just Chicago Bears fans and NFL Draft experts who believe Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty could land with the Bears in the first round — the buzz is growing across the board.
When it comes to predicting the outcome of an event, expert opinions are valuable, but few are as reliable as the odds set by Vegas. And when it comes to the 2025 NFL Draft, Vegas oddsmakers have GM Ryan Poles as the most likely to select Jeanty in the first round.
According to the latest odds from DraftKings, the Bears are slightly favored over the Las Vegas Raiders at +130, with the Raiders at +150. It’s essentially a two-team race, with the Dallas Cowboys at +550 being the next closest contender, followed by the San Francisco 49ers at +1100.
While the odds reflect some interesting insight, it’s still hard to imagine the Bears having a better chance at Jeanty than the Raiders, who pick four spots ahead of Chicago and have a greater need at running back.
For Jeanty to fall to the Bears, the Raiders would have to either shift their focus to wide receiver or trade out of their pick to a team looking to move up for a quarterback. With their offseason trade for Geno Smith, the Raiders are no longer targeting a quarterback, and with Shedeur Sanders expected to go around the sixth pick, they might opt for more draft picks to accelerate their rebuild.

The idea of Ashton Jeanty joining the Bears is certainly exciting. The closest the Bears have come to a dynamic trio like Caleb Williams, Jeanty, and Rome Odunze (or DJ Moore) was during the Jay Cutler, Matt Forte, and Brandon Marshall era, which produced some thrilling offenses.
However, it’s hard to see GM Ryan Poles bypassing an opportunity to strengthen the offensive line. The Bears still need a left tackle to complete their line overhaul, and if they stick to their offseason priorities, they’ll have a wealth of talented prospects to choose from in the first round.
Still, the thought of Ashton Jeanty in a Chicago Bears uniform is undeniably tempting.
