One big-time NCAA Tournament personality will be alongside new NC State basketball head coach Will Wade.

When news broke that the NC State basketball program was in discussions with McNeese State head coach Will Wade about the head coaching position, people in Raleigh started to take notice of the Cowboys’ journey in March Madness.

As a result, Wolfpack fans may have become acquainted with the most well-known figure in the McNeese program, student manager Amir Khan. The 22-year-old gained fame in February when videos of him entering the court with a large boombox around his neck went viral, inspiring a tradition that continued into the NCAA Tournament.

Khan, nicknamed “Aura,” secured six-figure NIL deals with brands like Buffalo Wild Wings and Insomnia Cookies.

His rising fame also led to a new opportunity, as he is set to join his former head coach in Raleigh as part of the NC State basketball staff.

After McNeese’s season concluded with a loss to Purdue on Saturday, CBS Sports’ Matt Norlander reported that the viral star is anticipated to follow Wade and become a graduate assistant with the Wolfpack.

News: Amir "Aura" Kahn is expected to follow Will Wade to NC State as a GA. As for Wade, he told me he's agreed to a six-year deal. NC State is expected to announce Wade on Sunday.

Kahn also FaceTimed with NC State legend DJ Burns on Friday night.
