Three Star LB Caleb Gordon lists Georgia Tech as a finalist for his recruitement. Can the Yellow Jackets land the star from Ashbrook?
Georgia Tech is among the finalists for exceptional linebacker Caleb Gordon from North Carolina. The 2026 LB recently revealed his top eight schools, which include Clemson, East Carolina, Liberty, Virginia, Memphis, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, and the Yellow Jackets. Georgia Tech extended an offer to Gordon in mid-January. He has official visits scheduled for Clemson on May 30th, Liberty on June 13th, and Virginia on June 19th.

According to On3, Gordon is rated as a three-star prospect, ranked as the No. 41 player in North Carolina and the No. 74 linebacker nationally. On3 gives him his highest rating, slightly ahead of 247Sports, while Rivals also lists him as a three-star recruit. ESPN, however, has yet to assign him a ranking.
This past season, Gordon played a crucial role on defense for Ashbrook, helping lead the team to a 10-3 record and a quarterfinal playoff appearance. He posted a team-best 141 tackles, along with eight tackles for loss, four sacks, two interceptions, and two fumble recoveries. He ended the season on an impressive streak, recording 10 or more tackles in each of the final seven games, including a season-high 19 stops in a narrow loss to Kings Mountain (NC). His ability to elevate his play as the season progressed is a quality that college coaches highly value.
So what would he bring to Georgia Tech? Gordon is a versatile linebacker with strong run-stopping ability, great instincts, and excellent sideline-to-sideline movement. His coverage skills stand out, as evidenced by his two interceptions last season. Perhaps his most impressive trait is his ability to shed blocks and disrupt plays in the opponent’s backfield. At 6’0” and 215 pounds, he has the size, physicality, and relentless motor to make a significant impact.
Last season marked a breakout year for Gordon, as he surpassed 100 tackles for the first time in his high school career. A four-year starter for the Greenwave, he has consistently improved and expanded his skill set each season. Georgia Tech is in the mix for his commitment, but they will need to compete aggressively with ACC rivals like Clemson and Virginia Tech to secure him for the Yellow Jackets.
