Arizona State Extends Offer to Elite 2028 QB Prospect
Arizona State continues to build momentum on the recruiting trail under head coach Kenny Dillingham, now turning its attention to future classes beyond 2027. On Wednesday, the Sun Devils offered one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2028 class.
That prospect is Donald Tabron II, a five-star recruit according to the 247Sports Composite. The Detroit native already holds more than 30 scholarship offers, with Arizona State becoming the latest program to join the race. At just 16 years old and standing over 6-foot-3, Tabron has the physical tools that project well for the next level.
He has already drawn interest from major programs like Michigan, Indiana, Oregon, and Texas A&M, but Arizona State believes it has a compelling case to stay competitive in his recruitment.
Coaching Pedigree a Key Selling Point
One of Arizona State’s biggest advantages is its coaching staff, particularly Dillingham and offensive coordinator Marcus Arroyo, who have strong track records developing quarterbacks. Dillingham has played a role in the growth of players such as Jordan Travis, Bo Nix, and Brady White, the latter of whom is now part of the ASU staff.
The development of quarterbacks at Arizona State, including Sam Leavitt and Jeff Sims, further highlights the program’s ability to elevate talent. Along with experienced assistants like running backs coach Shaun Aguano, the staff has built a strong culture in Tempe.
Program Momentum and Facilities
Arizona State is also investing in its future with plans for a new indoor practice facility expected to be completed ahead of the 2028 season. The addition of upgraded facilities, combined with the program’s recent recruiting success, could help attract more elite prospects moving forward.
Under Dillingham, the Sun Devils have revitalized their program and recruiting efforts, positioning themselves as a contender for top talent like Tabron in the coming years.
