Bengals Emerging as Strong Landing Spot for Jaguars Pro Bowl Linebacker
The Cincinnati Bengals continue generating significant offseason buzz as a potential destination for Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Devin Lloyd, as the team looks to rebuild its struggling defense.

Holding the No. 10 overall selection in the 2026 NFL Draft, Cincinnati is expected to target defensive reinforcements. Prospects such as safety Caleb Downs or edge rusher Rueben Bain Jr. could immediately elevate the unit, though linebacker remains a major area of concern.
Recent projections from Bleacher Report suggested the Bengals could pursue Lloyd in free agency with a sizable contract. Adding an experienced defensive presence alongside a top draft pick could provide Cincinnati with the foundation needed to improve on defense.
PFF analyst Mason Cameron also identified the Bengals as an ideal free-agent destination for Lloyd. According to Cameron, defensive coordinator Al Golden’s system requires significant improvement at linebacker after the unit finished last in the league in PFF overall grading last season.
Led largely by young players Demetrius Knight Jr. and Barrett Carter, Cincinnati’s linebacker group struggled throughout the year, increasing the need for a proven defensive leader. Lloyd stands out as one of the most accomplished linebackers available, coming off an outstanding season that showcased his versatility.
The 27-year-old earned second-team All-Pro honors after posting elite production across multiple categories, excelling against the run, in pass coverage, and as a pass rusher. His all-around performance helped establish him as one of the AFC’s top defensive playmakers and earned him a Pro Bowl selection.
Bringing Lloyd into the middle of the defense could significantly strengthen Cincinnati’s roster, though the move may depend on how the team approaches the draft. If the Bengals choose to address linebacker early — potentially selecting Ohio State standout Sonny Styles — pursuing Lloyd in free agency may become less likely.
Regardless, upgrading the linebacker position remains a top offseason priority, and Lloyd represents one of the most impactful solutions available.
