BIG 12 RECRUITING: Kansas State Picking Up Steam For Five-Star Sensation

Kansas State Picking Up Steam for Five-Star TE Linkon Cure

As the decision day approaches for highly-rated tight end Linkon Cure, numerous recruiting industry experts are increasingly predicting that he will choose Kansas State, a local favorite.

Recruiting analysts from On3 and 247Sports have collectively made 13 predictions in favor of Kansas State securing the talented pass catcher.

Hailing from Goodland High School, Cure is rated as a five-star prospect by the 247Sports index and is considered the nation’s 26th-ranked player. He is also ranked as the second-best player in his position and in the state of Kansas.

According to five experts on 247Sports – Steve Wiltfong, Allen Trieu, Mike Roach, Tom Loy, and Ryan Wallace – and eight experts from On3, Kansas State is likely to secure Cure. The first prediction was made by K-State Online’s Derek Young on August 7, 2023, followed by Mason Voth, Chad Simmons, Sam Spiegelman, Bryan Munson, Drew Galloway, Josh McCuistion, and Steve Wiltfong.

Cure, a standout player in his class, recently visited Kansas State on June 21st. During his visit, he engaged in activities such as golfing, fishing, participating in photoshoots, and more alongside quarterback Avery Johnson, running back Dylan Edwards, head coach Chris Klieman, and co-offensive coordinator Matt Wells.

Although Kansas State will need to outcompete Oregon, Texas A&M, and Kansas to secure Cure, successfully recruiting the Kansas native would mark the first time Chris Klieman has brought in a five-star prospect and one of the most highly rated additions in the program’s history.
