Birmingham Stallions Re-Sign Top Sensation for another season in the UFL

Birmingham Stallions supporters will be excited to hear that linebacker DeMarquis Gates is set to return for another season in the UFL.

In the realm of spring football, few have a career as accomplished as DeMarquis Gates. He started out in the AAF with the Memphis Express, where he emerged as one of the top tacklers in the league, racking up 72 tackles and a sack over eight weeks.

In 2020, Gates transitioned to the XFL, joining the Houston Roughnecks. He continued to excel, accumulating 32 tackles, two sacks, and an interception in just five games.

Following that, DeMarquis joined the Birmingham Stallions for the first season of the USFL. In 2022, he recorded 62 tackles, 6.5 sacks, and an interception, which led to an opportunity with the Chicago Bears in the NFL.

Gates remained on the Chicago practice squad for more than a year, participating in a few games where he recorded two tackles. In 2024, after finding himself without a team, he returned to the Stallions, where he became a pivotal player in their Championship victory, notching 37 tackles and two sacks. DeMarquis started in all ten games he played during the 2024 season.

He’s ready to return for another season with the three-time champions. General Manager Zach Potter is keeping an β€œOG Stallion,” which is fantastic news for the fans in Birmingham.
