“I was on my way back from a visit to Louisville and they reached out to me asking if I could stop by,” Johnson said. “I was with one of my teammates, so we both stopped by. We got to tour the school, and they showed us around. They have a nice facility and a really nice campus. When we got ready to leave, Coach [Gerald] Chatman was talking to me, and he let me know I had an offer from them.”
Since receiving the offer, Johnson has been in contact with several members of the Florida Gators’ staff. Defensive line coach Gerald Chatman has been a primary point of contact, along with off-field staffers Jeremy Patterson and Luis McLeod.
