“Blessed to Receive the Offer” as Elite Linebacker Commits To Texas Tech Football Ahead Of Severe Top Programs

Under Joey McGuire, the Texas Tech football program has consistently shown a willingness to quickly pursue recruits they are enthusiastic about, even if those recruits haven’t yet attracted offers from top-tier schools.

On Friday, Georgetown East View linebacker Tieson Ejiawoko announced his commitment to the Red Raiders via social media. Despite also receiving scholarship offers from Oregon State, Washington State, Houston, North Texas, Connecticut, and Nevada-Las Vegas, Ejiawoko is expected to draw even more interest.

Ranked as the No. 37 prospect in Texas and No. 262 nationally for the class of 2026 by the 247Sports composite index, Ejiawoko is listed at 6-foot-3 and 226 pounds by his high school team as he enters his junior season. He made a notable impact last year with 60 tackles and three sacks as a sophomore on varsity. Ejiawoko is the first recruit to commit to Texas Tech for the 2026 class.

East View, which competes in District 8-5A Division I, finished last season with a 4-6 record and a 3-4 mark in district play.
