Braves News: Chris Sale Impressive Dominant, Michael Harris Latest Update And More

It was a busy day for Braves that thankfully included a big victory.

After a tough loss on Sunday and the setback of AJ Minter landing on the injured list on Monday, Atlanta desperately needed a win on the field. While they struggled for the first nine innings late Monday night, the Braves finally secured a 1-0 victory in extra innings against the Giants in a game that felt very much like a playoff matchup. Both Chris Sale and Blake Snell showcased outstanding performances, creating one of the best pitching duels in recent memory, followed by effective outings from both bullpens before extra innings.

In the tenth inning, manager Brian Snitker made strategic substitutions, and Travis d’Arnaud hit a sacrifice fly to score the game’s only run. Rasiel Iglesias then closed out the game with another strong inning, allowing the Braves to start the week on a much-needed positive note.

Braves News: As expected, Michael Harris II will return from the 60-day injured list on Wednesday when eligible. However, AJ Minter is heading back to the 15-day IL with a hip injury for the second time this season, raising concerns that he could be out for the remainder of the year, though only time will tell. Dylan Lee has returned to Atlanta to take Minter’s place.

Reynaldo Lopez will make a rehab start for Gwinnett on Tuesday. In addition, Stephen Tolbert discussed how the Braves are still in the playoff hunt despite recent difficulties, while Kris Willis examined the team’s outlook against the Giants this week and encouraged fans to submit questions for a new Battery Power mailbag.

MLB News: In his return, Mookie Betts hit a home run for the Dodgers against the Brewers. Second overall prospect Junior Caminero is set to be called up by the Rays. The Marlins are parting ways with several high-ranking executives in their front office. The Mariners signed Victor Robles to a two-year extension after his impressive stint since midseason. Kris Bryant has landed on the injured list once again for the Rockies. Joe Musgrove was activated from the 60-day IL by the Padres on Monday. Amed Rosario, acquired via trade less than two weeks ago, was designated for assignment by the Dodgers to make room for Betts. Lastly, the Cardinals have recalled Jordan Walker to the major league roster on Monday.
