2025 safety Julien Horton commits to North Carolina
Julien Horton, a three-star safety from Bel Air (Md.), revealed his commitment to North Carolina on Thursday morning. This decision came after he withdrew his commitment from Maryland earlier in June on the 23rd.
According to the On3 Industry Ranking, which aggregates data from four major recruiting media companies, Horton is positioned as the No. 925 overall prospect and the 72nd safety in the 2025 cycle. Additionally, he holds the rank of the 29th player in Maryland.
The Tar Heels extended an offer to the 5-foot-11, 160-pound player on May 7, prompting his official visit to Chapel Hill over the weekend. As a result, he is now being considered by the coaching staff led by Mack Brown.
With Horton’s commitment, he becomes the 11th addition to the Tar Heels’ recruiting class for this cycle. The team’s class is currently ranked at No. 24 in the nation and No. 4 in the ACC based on the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
