BREAKING: College Football Program Takes Action: Coach Punished for Unacceptable Behavior!

UL Monroe’s 28-23 loss to Marshall wasn’t the highlight; instead, the Warhawks garnered attention for reasons other than the score. UL Monroe’s assistant coach became a subject of conversation.

The Warhawks and Thundering Herd were even at 14 points at halftime, but Marshall surged ahead in the second half with two touchdowns. UL Monroe made a field goal in the beginning of the fourth quarter and later scored a touchdown with 1:48 remaining, but it was not enough.

UL Monroe offensive line coach Cameron Blankenship was caught on camera completely losing it while confronting one of his players. Blankenship seemed to confront offensive lineman Drew Hutchinson for being on the field at an inappropriate time.

Blankenship shoved Hutchinson in the player’s face while shouting after the error occurred.

Following the game, the UL Monroe department of athletics issued a statement, confirming that they will take steps against Blankenship. The declaration stated Blankenship would face consequences and described his actions as inappropriate “behavior.”

The statement indicated that during the game at Marshall on Saturday, assistant coach Cameron Blankenship had physical contact with a ULM student-athlete on the sideline. “This conduct is not accepted and does not align with the standards of ULM football.” The assistant will face disciplinary measures. Since this is a personal issue, the discipline will be addressed within the organization’s own procedures.

Following the match, UL Monroe and Marshall are both sporting a 5-3 record. The Warhawks are close to ending a bowl-game dry spell that began in 2012, needing just one more win.

UL Monroe will play against Texas State on November 9th. The game will start at 12:00 PM Eastern Time and will be broadcasted on ESPNU.
