Baltimore CB Angelo Ross commits to East Carolina
East Carolina’s recruiting success for the 2025 class continued on Tuesday as cornerback Angelo Ross announced his commitment. The 6-foot, 170-pound player currently attends Mount Saint Joseph in Baltimore, Maryland.
Ross’ commitment represents the 12th for ECU’s 2025 recruiting class and the 10th in the past 10 days. He recently visited ECU officially from Thursday through Saturday. As the first cornerback commitment for ECU’s 2025 class, and the second defensive back overall, he joins three-star safety Durante Speer.
Reportedly possessing a 78-inch wingspan, Ross was recruited by cornerbacks coach Jules Montinar and area recruiter Dyrell Roberts. After receiving an offer from ECU on April 24, he committed less than two months later. Additionally, Ross had offers from Akron, Buffalo, and Miami (OH) at the FBS level.

Ross, who was named to the second-team all-state and first-team all-conference, demonstrated his skills with eight interceptions during his junior year at Mount Saint Joseph, where the team achieved a 7-5 overall record. In addition to the interceptions, he contributed nine pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and 15 tackles.
Despite not displaying exceptional physical size in his video footage, Ross exhibits a strong football IQ and above-average ball-handling skills. These attributes have led to numerous game-changing plays on the defensive end. He also displays agility and good hip movement, enabling quick changes in direction, a crucial quality for a cover corner. Furthermore, he is a dependable tackler when called upon.
Ross represents ECU’s first commitment from Maryland. Additionally, the Pirates have secured commitments from other states, including Florida (RB Eddie Love Jr. from Fort Walton Beach), Kentucky (WR Connor Hodge from Christian Academy of Louisville), and Texas (QB Chaston Ditta from Lake Travis).
Furthermore, ECU has received commitments from four players in Georgia (EDGE Zion Cooley, Durante Speer, DE Amari Wilson, and DL Dominick Moody), and even more from their home state of North Carolina (WR Johnny Williams, TE Kaleb Morrow, OL Jonathan Stokes, and LB Kendric Davis).
As of now, the Pirates’ 2025 recruiting class is positioned at 73rd place in the national rankings and holds the third spot in The American, trailing behind USF and Florida Atlantic.
