June 27, 2024 – ETSU has 59 student-athletes included in SoCon Spring All-Academic list The Southern Conference unveiled its 2024 Spring Academic All-Conference Team, with ETSU securing 59 student-athletes on the roster.
Student-athletes from various sports such as men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s indoor track and field, rifle, wrestling, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s outdoor track and field, men’s and women’s tennis, baseball, and softball have been recognized in the Spring Academic All-SoCon team.
To qualify for the academic all-conference team, student-athletes needed to maintain a minimum 3.3 cumulative grade-point average at the end of the spring semester and were required to participate in at least half of their teams’ competitions during the recently concluded season.
Moreover, the student-athletes must have completed a minimum of three semesters at their institutions, rendering true freshmen and first-year transfers ineligible for consideration.
The Women’s Track & Field team led with 12 selections, closely followed by the Men’s Track & Field team with 10 honorees. Additionally, Baseball had eight student-athletes, followed by softball (seven), men’s golf (seven), and women’s basketball (six). Women’s tennis, men’s tennis, and women’s golf clinched three honorees each, completing ETSU’s representation.
Hannah Burkhart (women’s track & field) and Amber Thornton (women’s golf) distinguished themselves by achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA for the spring semester.
