JUSTIN: Injury In ALCS Results In Yankees Excluding Veteran From World Series Roster.

The New York Yankees are preparing to face the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series in hopes of securing their first championship since 2009. On the flip side, the Dodgers have already secured a World Series championship in 2020. The Yankees are facing a tough challenge as Los Angeles has the home field advantage in this game.

The incline of the mountain increased slightly on Friday with the release of the final World Series roster by the Yankees. Due to Nestor Cortes Jr.’s return to health in time to strengthen the bullpen, they needed to remove one position player from their bench.

Initially surprising, utility infielder Jon Berti was unexpectedly left out of the World Series roster. Nevertheless, the situation became clear soon after Aaron Boone, the manager, revealed that Berti was injured during the ALCS and is unavailable to play, as reported by Jack Curry of YES Network.

“According to Curry’s report on Twitter, Boone told journalists in LA that Berti is dealing with a hip flexor injury.” “This is the reason he is not included in the roster.”

Berti may not have started every game, but his exceptional speed made him a valuable asset for the Yankees in late-game situations. The ex-Marlin presented Boone with an alternative in the form of a pinch runner who poses a threat on the bases in the late innings, but the Yankees will not have that option in this series.

The period of Yankees baseball has been characterized by postseason letdowns, but 2024 could be the year they turn things around. New York has dominated the American League throughout the season and has now clinched the American League pennant.

The playoff bracket became more favorable for them after the Kansas City Royals defeated the Baltimore Orioles in the Wild Card round, and the Yankees capitalized on the opportunity. Next, they defeated the Cleveland Guardians in a series of close games in the ALCS, bringing them just four victories away from making history.

Now, the intensity increases. The Dodgers pose a unique challenge for the Yankees in the playoffs, so it is crucial for them to focus on their performance. With Anthony Rizzo and Nestor Cortes Jr. returning from injury, they are fairly healthy and playing well as they enter the game.

The Yankees might not be able to repeat with the same lineup. There have been speculations all season about Juan Soto becoming a free agent and possibly leaving. If Soto is lost, the Yankees would be without their second best hitter, with no one ready to step in and provide similar offensive output.

Furthermore, the team is aging, notably the pitchers, making this opportunity their most optimal to achieve success with this group. The Yankees are hoping that pressure will result in diamonds this time.
