Reported on July 4, 2024, at 12:49 PM ET and updated at 12:48 PM ET, in Winnipeg, Zach Collaros will not be taking the field when the Blue Bombers face off against the Ottawa Redblacks this upcoming Friday.
Collaros was sidelined from practice this week due to a thorax injury sustained during the previous Saturday’s defeat against the Stampeders. As a result, he is designated as the third quarterback on Winnipeg’s roster.
During the clash with the Stampeders, Collaros absorbed a hit to the chest from defensive tackle Josiah Coatney towards the end of the first half, leading to his substitution by Chris Streveler. Streveler, who last started a game in October 2019, will be stepping in as the starting quarterback this time, with Terry Wilson in the backup role.
The winless Bombers with a record of 0-4 are aiming to secure their first victory of the season as they take on the 2-1 Redblacks.
