Washington defensive back Jordan Perryman will be a CFL player after being cut with an injury settlement as an undrafted free agent with the Raiders…

The BC Lions have announced the addition of American defensive back Jordan Perryman to their training camp roster.

Perryman, who stands 6’0 and weighs 200 lbs, initially entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Las Vegas Raiders, attending their 2023 training camp before being released due to an injury settlement on September 5. During his college career at UC Davis from 2017 to 2021, he played in 42 games, recording a total of 140 tackles (117 solo, 23 assisted), 23 pass breakups, four interceptions, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. His impressive performance earned him First-Team All-Big Sky honors after the 2021 fall season.

Perryman transferred to Washington for his senior year, where he accumulated 37 tackles and one pass breakup in ten games, contributing five tackles in the Alamo Bowl victory against Texas.

After one season at the Power Five level, Perryman signed with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent, joining several other Washington players who signed with NFL teams after the 2023 NFL Draft, as reported by Seattle Times’ Mike Vorel.

Following the departure of key players like Trent McDuffie and Kyler Gordon to the NFL after the 2021 season, Perryman, who was named a Third Team FCS All-American at UC Davis, became a key target for recruiters. He joined Washington in January and made a strong impression during spring and fall camp, starting in the opening game against Kent State.

However, he faced setbacks due to injuries, including a leg injury that sidelined him for several games, and a shoulder injury during the Oregon game. He finally returned to full strength for the bowl game against Texas but suffered a wrist injury that required offseason surgery.

In high school at Hanford (CA), Perryman was a standout player, ultimately choosing UC Davis over several other competing FCS programs. Alongside Perryman, other Huskies who secured NFL opportunities after the 2023 season include OL Jaxson Kirkland (Cincinnati Bengals), DB Alex Cook (New York Giants/Carolina), EDGE Jeremiah Martin (Cleveland Browns), OL Corey Luciano (San Francisco 49ers), LB Cam Bright (Seattle Seahawks), and Peyton Henry (New York Giants tryout invite).
