Breaking: Significant News As Hofstra Graduate Signs Contract With Detroit Pistons

Hempstead, NY – Aaron Estrada, a former Hofstra men’s basketball player, has signed an Exhibit-10 contract with the Detroit Pistons, as announced by the team on Monday.

After earning a liberal arts degree from Hofstra in 2023, Estrada played two impressive seasons with the Pride before finishing his college career at Alabama.

During his time at Hofstra, Estrada scored a total of 1,219 points, placing him 28th in the program’s history. He averaged 18.5 points per game in 2021-22 and 20.2 points in 2022-23, resulting in an overall average of 19.3 points across his time there.

He received back-to-back CAA Player of the Year honors in 2021-22 and 2022-23, along with All-CAA First Team recognition both years. Estrada was also a finalist for the Lou Henson National Player of the Year award and earned various accolades, including NABC All-District recognition, USBWA All-District honors, and All-Eastern College Athletic Conference First Team selection.

In addition to his scoring, Estrada recorded 352 rebounds, 292 assists, 96 steals, and 13 blocks at Hofstra, along with 131 three-pointers made.

He started all 63 games he played, averaging 36.1 minutes per game.

In his final season at Alabama, he averaged 13.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.6 assists over 37 games, and helped the Crimson Tide reach the NCAA Final Four during the 2023-24 season. Before Hofstra, he played at Saint Peter’s and Oregon.
